As mentioned in the registration information, a $25 non-refundable tryout fee is part of the fee structure beginning in 2017. This fee, which is now common in youth athletics, goes to cover the expense of the gym facilities and evaluators. All girls will need to bring $25 to their first night of tryouts in order to try out. Failure to make the payment will result in the player not being placed on a travel team. The tryout fee will be deducted from all remaining travel fees for girls that are placed on a travel team.
GREG GELHORN BENEFIT
In May 2017 longtime Lakeville resident, teacher, and youth coach Greg Gelhorn was diagnosed with ALS (also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease). Greg spent a number of years helping to support LNGBA. He served as a board member, running our traveling programs, up until he was diagnosed. Prior to May, Greg was living life to its fullest. Just last fall Greg ran a marathon that he never fully recovered from. The disease has progressively zapped his muscle strength, and home modifications as well as a customized wheelchair are required to keep Greg mobile while at home and on the road. Please join us to help raise funds for Greg and his family.
